Leading Logistics Solution Provider, SDI Industries, Uses Sabrix Managed Tax Service Integrated With Microsoft Dynamics NAV to Save Tens of Thousands of Dollars Annually

Outsourcing Approach Slashes Administrative Costs and Enables Company to Focus on Company Growth

SAN RAMON, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 09/15/09 -- Sabrix, Inc., a leading provider of transaction tax management for companies of all sizes, today announced that SDI Industries (http://www.sdiindustries.com), a leading logistics solution provider, has saved tens of thousands of dollars annually using Sabrix Managed Tax Service (MTS) integrated with Microsoft Dynamics NAV.

Prior to Sabrix, SDI Industries (SDI) utilized a laborious, manual process requiring 40 hours a month to meet their sales and use tax compliance obligation, including an intensive reconciliation process at the end of each month. Despite this investment of time and resources, the process was error prone including overpayment of tens of thousands of dollars in sales tax and significant re-work based on SDI's clients highlighting discrepancies.

"As we proceed with Sabrix, this type of on-demand service will help us continually and cost-effectively stay in compliance and fine-tune our tax management environment," said Mark A. Conrad, Chief Financial Officer of SDI. "Sabrix is providing excellent value. The implementation and integration could not have gone any better and now we don't have to sweat over sales tax compliance and the associated costs and distractions anymore."

In 2008, SDI embarked on remedying the issue by installing a new accounting system, Microsoft Dynamics NAV that could easily integrate with a robust sales and use tax solution. After evaluating multiple market alternatives, SDI concluded that an outsourced approach that entrusted their sales and use tax compliance to proven experts offered greater value than continuing to manage it in-house using software and their own resources. SDI selected Sabrix MTS, an outsourced sales and use tax service that includes an on-demand version of the same trusted tax platform that powers over $1.7 trillion in transaction taxes for companies of all sizes, combined with professional services from a multidisciplinary team of tax experts and SAS 70 certified processes. Other solutions provided software, but did not alleviate the need for internal staff with tax and technical expertise to manage it.

Facing a very short window to get its new tax system up and running, SDI worked with Microsoft partner OfficeOps to accelerate the integration process.

"Sabrix has clearly invested in understanding Dynamics NAV and has built a sophisticated integration that is optimized to work with the specific capabilities that NAV offers. As a result, implementations are designed to be fast, smooth and easy, allowing NAV customers to easily add sales and use tax compliance capability with minimal disruption to their existing processes," said Jack Gentle, CEO of OfficeOps. "SDI's combined solution was in the testing phases within two weeks and was fully operational in under a month."

Benefits achieved by SDI by using Sabrix MTS integrated with Microsoft Dynamics NAV include:

-- Streamlined tax process -- Sabrix MTS automated SDI's entire sales and
use tax process, from rules-based tax determination to applying up-to-date
tax rates. The first month alone, SDI shaved 25 hours from the
reconciliation process and at least 10 hours on management of day-to-day
    tax processes.
-- Ensured tax accuracy -- SDI now has confidence that its tax
determinations and calculations are correct and that it is not over-
    charging or under-charging its clients.
-- Fast, seamless integration with Microsoft Dynamics NAV -- Sabrix MTS
was up and running and fully integrated with Microsoft Dynamics NAV in
record time, with a seamless flow of information across the integrated
-- Cost-effective, on-demand expert service -- Sabrix's team of tax
experts is available to back up SDI's transaction tax management process,
on demand. This includes providing expert advice on complex taxability
issues and extends to nexus studies and audit support.

OfficeOps will showcase SDI's successful Sabrix MTS integrated with Microsoft Dynamics NAV solution September 14-15 at the Microsoft Dynamics NAV User Group (NAVUG) (http://www.dynamiccommunities.com/summit2009/gpug/summithome09.asp) Forum in Chicago, IL.

The Jevons Paradox suggests that when technological advances increase efficiency of a resource, it results in an overall increase in consumption.
