Shunra and Jamo Solutions Announce Integration Points For vCat and M-Eux

Shunra Software, the industry-recognized authority in network virtualization and application performance engineering, today announced a joint solution in support of Shunra’s mobile application performance test platform, with Jamo Solutions, a leading provider of mobile test automation and application monitoring solutions. The integrated offering combines Jamo’s mobile functional scripting and testing capabilities with Shunra’s vCat for network virtualization and performance analysis.

“Testing mobile applications without consideration for the dynamic nature of mobile networks puts application performance at risk, and with that comes risk to corporate revenue, productivity and brand reputation,” said Bill Varga, Shunra COO. “Partnering with a market leader who shares this perspective will arm our mutual customers with a proven and effective methodology for ensuring a quality mobile user experience.”

The joint solution features Jamo’s M-Eux technology for mobile application functional testing and Shunra’s vCat for precise emulation of real-world network conditions. M-Eux recognizes objects on a mobile device screen just as an end-user would; it automatically captures these objects and end user interaction with the objects in order to generate a reusable test script, making regression testing and other functional testing quick and easy. This is particularly valuable for mobile applications which are frequently and regularly updated. Jamo Solutions also analyzes the functions executed in the test script in order to deliver insight into process, memory usage and battery consumption.

Shunra’s vCat solution ensures that the functional testing is performed in an environment representative of the real-world networks being accessed by end users. Mobile devices are connected to vCat via a wireless hotspot capability; vCat impairs that wireless connection with network conditions that precisely emulate real-world mobile networks, including dynamic bandwidth constraints, latency, jitter, and packet loss. vCat also delivers performance analysis capabilities such as individual resource size and load times, and automated performance optimization suggestions based on a proprietary Shunra ruleset that has proven to improve mobile performance by up to 40%.

“The precision of Jamo Solution’s end user capture ability is invaluable to mobile testing teams,” said Jacques Wouters, Jamo Solutions CEO. “However, testing in a pristine lab or development environment is not indicative of real-world usage. Shunra’s ability to virtualize the real-world network in the lab environment and deliver a deep performance analysis is a perfect complement to our solution. We are proud to partner with Shunra to jointly deliver a highly reliable and highly repeatable mobile application testing solution.”

The joint Shunra-Jamo Solutions capabilities are available now by contacting Shunra Software or Jamo Solutions.

If a machine can invent, does this mean the end of the patent system as we know it? The patent system, both in the US and Europe, allows companies to protect their inventions and helps foster innovation. However, Artificial Intelligence (AI) could be set to disrupt the patent system as we know it. This talk will examine how AI may change the patent landscape in the years to come. Furthermore, ways in which companies can best protect their AI related inventions will be examined from both a US and...

When talking IoT we often focus on the devices, the sensors, the hardware itself. The new smart appliances, the new smart or self-driving cars (which are amalgamations of many ‘things'). When we are looking at the world of IoT, we should take a step back, look at the big picture. What value are these devices providing. IoT is not about the devices, its about the data consumed and generated. The devices are tools, mechanisms, conduits. This paper discusses the considerations when dealing with the...
