SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 12, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Coverity, the development testing leader, today announced that Coverity® Quality Advisor, Coverity® Security Advisor and Coverity® Test Advisor--three core products within the Coverity Development Testing Platform--have been validated Ready for IBM Rational, including support for IBM® Rational® Team Concert (RTC). As part of Ready for IBM Rational software validation, IBM has verified that Coverity meets the Ready for Rational software requirements for integration between the Coverity Development Testing Platform and the IBM Rational Software Delivery Platform.
Through this integration, Coverity-identified quality and security issues are surfaced within RTC, providing a new level of visibility into code quality and security early in development, as the code is written, and a unified workflow for a new level of collaboration between Development and QA. By integrating the industry's most accurate and widely adopted development testing platform into IBM's industry-standard platform for collaborative change management and application lifecycle management (ALM), organizations can significantly reduce the risk of application quality and security issues in production without negatively impacting agility or cost.
"Development testing is an integral part of the software development lifecycle to help reduce the time, cost and risk associated with software issues," said Anthony Bettencourt, Chief Executive Officer at Coverity. "We see the emergence of a new market where uncovering software quality and security issues with a single, integrated platform is becoming a mission-critical need of all enterprises. Collaborating with IBM will bring our joint customers shared visibility into software issues early in the process and provide a new way to collaborate across Development, QA and Security to meet increasing business demands for resilient and fast software delivery."
