Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/7x2jdg/global_ngfw) has announced the addition of the "Global NGFW Market 2011-2015" report to their offering.
TechNavio's analysts forecast the Global Next Generation Firewall market to grow at a CAGR of 16.59 percent over the period 2011-2015. One of the key factors contributing to this market growth is the increase in the number of regulatory requirements. The Global Next Generation Firewall market has also been witnessing the increasing monitoring of network activity and bandwidth consumption. However, the global economic uncertainty could pose a challenge to the growth of this market.
The other vendors mentioned in the report are Check Point Software Technologies, Sourcefire, HP, IBM, Barracuda Networks, SonicWALL which is the security division of Dell Inc., McAfee and Symantec.
Commenting on the report, an analyst from TechNavio's IT Security team said: ''An increase in bandwidth-intensive applications has led companies across the globe to identify employees who use bandwidth-intensive applications, thereby slowing down the entire network. Since next-generation firewall (NGFW) uses the deep inspection technique, it can be used to monitor network activity and bandwidth consumption more clearly. Enterprise administrators can manage applications and control bandwidth needs and priorities. For example, SonicWall's NGFW solution allows network administrators to block bandwidth-intensive applications, thus giving the authorities total control of the network.''
According to the report, the growing need for regulatory compliance set by governments across the globe is one of the major drivers of the Global NGFW market. Enterprises are required to comply with these regulations and standards for best practice to secure their data. In case of non-compliance, these enterprises may have to pay penalties, which can damage their reputation. Hence, stringent regulatory norms are one of the major drivers of the market.
Further, the report reveals that one of the major challenges in the Global NGFW market is the uncertainty in global economic conditions.
