ATLANTA, Dec. 3, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Lancope, Inc., a leader in flow-based security and network performance monitoring, has announced the appointment of Kerry Armistead as vice president of product management. Armistead has more than 10 years of experience delivering high-value products in the information technology and cyber security markets. In his new role, he will leverage this experience to ensure the timely, high-quality and customer-focused delivery of Lancope's StealthWatch System to government and enterprise organizations around the globe.
Lancope's StealthWatch System leverages NetFlow, IPFIX and other types of flow data to provide in-depth, internal network visibility and threat context for defending against today's top threats. "The information security space has reached a turning point in which conventional solutions are no longer enough to protect enterprise assets from sophisticated, online threats," said Kerry Armistead, vice president of product management for Lancope. "Today's organizations require next-generation solutions like StealthWatch to keep constant watch over their infrastructure and quickly identify risks. I look forward to overseeing Lancope's talented product team as it continues to deliver innovative capabilities for early threat detection and mitigation to the world's most critical networks."
Armistead's previous experience includes five years as a senior product manager at IBM Internet Security Systems where he worked with upper management to set strategic direction, define and implement product specifications and business requirements and conceptualize product roadmaps. Just before joining Lancope, Armistead served as the director of product management and marketing for cloud-based IT services provider Cbeyond, developing and executing the go-to-market strategy for several product lines including security services.
Prior to Cbeyond, Armistead was the director of product management at McKesson Provider Technologies, delivering IT solutions to the healthcare industry. At McKesson, he improved product quality and time-to-market while building high-performing, cross-functional research and development teams and achieving a 97 percent customer retention rate. Before that, he served as director of product management for the social entertainment company, Kaneva, growing membership by 216 percent and reducing product development time by 67 percent. Armistead also spent time as product director at business and IT training company Global Knowledge, where he executed product launches in 43 countries and increased revenue by 300 percent.
"Kerry is an accomplished business leader with a proven track record of developing customer-focused growth strategies that turn out high-value products and optimize return on investment," said Mike Potts, president and CEO of Lancope. "High-profile security incidents around the world are dramatically increasing demand for the Lancope StealthWatch System, and we are excited to have Kerry on board as we add velocity and scale to ensure the continued timely and high-quality delivery of our innovative security platform."
Armistead holds a B.S. in Marketing from Clemson University. More information on Lancope's leadership team can be found at: http://www.lancope.com/company-overview/management/. For further details on StealthWatch, go to: http://www.lancope.com/products.
