Lithium Technologies, the leader in Social Customer Experience, today announced that it has named Mark Culhane as its new Chief Financial Officer. With more than three decades experience as an industry financial leader, Culhane further solidifies the company’s executive team as Lithium continues to enjoy strong growth on increasing demand for its cloud-based platform.
Most recently, Culhane served as Executive Vice President and CFO of DemandTec, a publicly traded cloud-based data and analytics company, prior to negotiating and leading its sale to IBM at a significant premium to the public market price at the time. During his career, Culhane has served as CFO of three public companies where he led and managed numerous financings and drove multiple strategic acquisitions.
“As a proven financial leader, Mark has a serious track record of helping grow and manage companies through domestic and international expansions, strategic acquisitions and IPOs,” said Lithium President and Chief Executive Officer Rob Tarkoff. “With the aggressive plans ahead of us, Mark is exactly the type of decisive, experienced leader Lithium needs to capitalize on our opportunities on the horizon.”
He joins Lithium immediately, reporting directly to Tarkoff.
Culhane said: “Social customer experience is becoming more prevalent as brands realize social should be the primary means of customer engagement, and Lithium is leading this revolution. This is clearly a time of accelerated growth and unprecedented opportunity for the company and I’m excited to be a part of Lithium’s future.”
Currently, Culhane serves on the Board of Directors of CallidusCloud, a public SaaS company and the global leader in sales effectiveness solutions, and is chairman of its audit committee and a member of its compensation committee.
Previously, Culhane was CFO of iManage, a public Web-based collaboration software company, and held the CFO role at publicly traded SciClone Pharmaceuticals. He began his career at PriceWaterhouse where he spent 10 years working with numerous technology companies in Silicon Valley. He holds a degree in business administration from the University of South Dakota.
