SUNNYVALE, Calif., Dec. 6, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Electric Cloud, a leading DevOps optimization company, today announced the appointment of cloud computing and enterprise software executive Steve Brodie as the company's CEO, effective immediately.
Brodie brings extensive and hands-on DevOps and Release Management leadership expertise to Electric Cloud. Prior to joining Electric Cloud, he served as group vice president and general manager of the Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) Business Unit at Serena Software, which generated over $150 million in revenue. In that role, Brodie led Serena's entry and growth in release management, a cornerstone technology for DevOps.
"We could not have found a better leader for Electric Cloud at this stage of the company's growth," said John Ousterhout, the company's founder and board chairman. "Steve has both deep domain expertise and an impressive track record growing innovative IT companies into global market leaders. He brings the strategic vision Electric Cloud needs to fully capitalize on the new market opportunities we're seeing and aggressively scale the company in 2013 and beyond."
Brodie has extensive experience in introducing new technologies to the market for both venture-backed startups and leading enterprise IT organizations. Prior to Serena Software, he spent two years as president and chief products & marketing officer at Skytap where he was responsible for the delivery of the world's first VMware-based public cloud. Additionally, Brodie held senior product management positions at HP/Mercury Interactive and IBM/Rational.
"I am delighted to join the Electric Cloud team," added Brodie. "Electric Cloud has ground-breaking products and technologies that are helping shape the emerging Continuous Delivery and DevOps space. The company also has a world-class team, an impressive customer base and an excellent reputation for customer satisfaction. Building on this strong foundation, I look forward to leading the company to the next level by delivering the most innovative DevOps solutions and unparalleled value to enterprise customers of all sizes around the world."
Electric Cloud's former CEO, Mike Maciag, is pursuing a new career opportunity, and will remain a member of Electric Cloud's board of directors.
