VIENNA, Va., Dec. 10, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Paragon Technology Group, a leading provider of strategic technology solutions to the public sector, announced today that it has been awarded an information technology services and solutions Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The Government estimates, but does not guarantee, that the volume of purchases through the BPA is $184 Million over five years. The BPA provides IT Support Services to continue the ground breaking research at the NHLBI and achieve its mission.
Paragon has assembled a team of innovators, technologists and health care research experts to provide comprehensive support to NHLBI's information technology environment. The team includes IBM, Dell Federal Services Group, Digital Infuzion, Digicon Corporation, Microsoft and CTIS.
"We are excited about this award and for the opportunity to continue working with the NHLBI and the Center for Biomedical Informatics to deliver innovative technology solutions that support NHLBI's life sciences mission," said David Gordon, vice president of healthcare, Paragon Technology Group. "Paragon's deep understanding of the Institute's goals and mission and our experience in providing information technology solutions within the Institute will be a key asset for NHLBI leadership as they look for increased use of methodologies such as Agile development and greater leverage of new IT platforms such as cloud computing."
"Dell is excited to continue our work with the NHLBI as NIH is one of our current premier clients," said George Newstrom, vice president and general manager, Dell Services Federal Government. "The partnership with Paragon Technology Group will provide the best possible team to move the NIH further with their mission to enhance health and lengthen life for all people across the globe."
Paragon has supported NHLBI since 2008, providing software development, project management, IT investment management, enterprise architecture and program management support to the Institute. Under the terms of the BPA, Paragon will compete for task orders that provide a range of IT services from service desk support for individual staff members, to the development of custom software applications, to the operation of a petabyte scale storage facility for scientific data.
