Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/ccbmdr/global_big_data) has announced the addition of the "Global Big Data Market in the Telecom Sector 2011-2015" report to their offering.
TechNavio's analysts forecast the Global Big Data market in the Telecom sector to grow at a CAGR of 55.24 percent over the period 2011-2015. One of the key factors contributing to this market growth is the data explosion in the telecom sector. The Global Big Data market in the Telecom sector has also been witnessing the growth of user-friendly predictive modeling. However, the data security and privacy issues could pose a challenge to the growth of this market.
The key vendors dominating this market space are EMC Corp., Hewlett-Packard Co., IBM Corp., and SAP AG.
The other vendors mentioned in the report are Cloudera Inc. and MapR Technologies Inc.
Commenting on the report, an analyst from TechNavio's Enterprise Computing team said: ''There has been an aggressive introduction of user-friendly predictive modeling tools, which are offered either independently or as embedded features of big data solutions. Offerings from most of the big data vendors include the feature of predictive modeling. Some of the established predictive modeling suppliers such as IBM and SAS Institute Inc. are expected to further develop and enhance their present usability features in predictive modeling tools. These features include interactive visualization and automation. This accelerates methods for developing, ascertaining, and analyzing predictive models.''
According to the report, one of the major drivers is the data explosion across telecom enterprises. The increase in calling and internet browsing has resulted in data explosion within telecom companies. Big data solutions are performed on this vast pool of data for improving operational efficiency.
Further, the report reveals that the data security and privacy issues associated with data being used for analytics is one of the major challenges confronting this market.
