EyeMD EMR Healthcare Systems & Advanced Data Systems Optimizing Ophthalmology Practice Automation

BONITA SPRINGS, FL and PARAMUS, NJ -- (Marketwire) -- 01/08/13 -- The EyeMD Electronic Medical Records system from EyeMD EMR Healthcare Systems (EEHS) and the MedicsPremier™ practice management system from Advanced Data Systems (ADS) have been optimized to give ophthalmology practices an extraordinary return on investment, increased revenue, greater productivity, improved patient care and an excellent patient experience.

A seamless, no cost bi-directional embedding of both systems brings the EyeMD EMR and the MedicsPremier PM together as a single, unified solution. Abdiel Marin, President of EEHS, said, "The exchange of data between EyeMD EMR and MedicsPremier is seamless and flawless. For all practical purposes, it is a single system."

David Barzillai, President of ADS, commented on how the companies also operate in a very close knit fashion by saying, "EEHS and ADS are as neatly in tune with each other as is our software, to the point where dedicated EEHS and ADS teams are in daily collaboration helping to ensure timely, coordinated, and efficient implementation and training."

"While ADS has its own MedicsDocAssistant EHR, which is excellent for a large number of specialties, ophthalmology EHR is quite unique. For that reason we wanted only to put forward the best EHR for our ophthalmology clients. After much due diligence, the decision was made to work together with EEHS. We saw EEHS and their EyeMD EMR as the ideal EHR solution for our ophthalmology clients," Mr. Barzillai said.

Mr. Marin said, "Our expertise over the past several years has been solely with EHR for ophthalmology. However, our history in medical billing gives us a unique understanding of ophthalmology PM requirements as well. For that reason, and after our own due diligence, we chose to work with ADS. Their MedicsPremier system is time tested, and we know from personal contact with clients that the system helps ophthalmology practices obtain maximum reimbursements, maintain positive cash flow, handle ophthalmology-related scheduling, and produce a full array of management and financial reports."

Samuel Guillory, MD, one of many ophthalmologists utilizing the embedded solutions provided his personal insight by saying, "Our search went on for quite some time in an effort to identify the best EHR and PM solutions for our NYC-based practice. We noted that systems were either strong on EHR but weak on PM, or vice versa. With the EyeMD EMR and MedicsPremier PM operating in unison, we have a 'best of both worlds,' single action solution strong on EHR and PM, and excellent for any ophthalmology practice."

Company and system affiliation was further exemplified when EEHS and ADS participated in the November 2012 AAO Conference at the McCormick Center in Chicago, meeting and speaking with ophthalmologists about the EyeMD EHR, the MedicsPremier PM, and the incorporating of both systems as a single solution. Both companies look forward to presenting again at the NOAO conference in New Orleans, January 25-26, 2013.

ADS is an IBM™ and Lenovo™ Business Partner. As such, clients have the added benefit of being able to obtain the hardware needed for both systems from a single source, along with the ability to backup both systems as one, further exemplifying the systems' integration.

@ThingsExpo Stories
Through WebRTC, audio and video communications are being embedded more easily than ever into applications, helping carriers, enterprises and independent software vendors deliver greater functionality to their end users. With today’s business world increasingly focused on outcomes, users’ growing calls for ease of use, and businesses craving smarter, tighter integration, what’s the next step in delivering a richer, more immersive experience? That richer, more fully integrated experience comes about through a Communications Platform as a Service which allows for messaging, screen sharing, video...
WebRTC has had a real tough three or four years, and so have those working with it. Only a few short years ago, the development world were excited about WebRTC and proclaiming how awesome it was. You might have played with the technology a couple of years ago, only to find the extra infrastructure requirements were painful to implement and poorly documented. This probably left a bitter taste in your mouth, especially when things went wrong.
WebRTC services have already permeated corporate communications in the form of videoconferencing solutions. However, WebRTC has the potential of going beyond and catalyzing a new class of services providing more than calls with capabilities such as mass-scale real-time media broadcasting, enriched and augmented video, person-to-machine and machine-to-machine communications. In his session at @ThingsExpo, Luis Lopez, CEO of Kurento, will introduce the technologies required for implementing these ideas and some early experiments performed in the Kurento open source software community in areas ...

Containers are not new, but renewed commitments to performance, flexibility, and agility have propelled them to the top of the agenda today. By working without the need for virtualization and its overhead, containers are seen as the perfect way to deploy apps and services across multiple clouds. Containers can handle anything from file types to operating systems and services, including microservices. What are microservices? Unlike what the name implies, microservices are not necessarily small, but are focused on specific tasks. The ability for developers to deploy multiple containers – thous...

Learn what is going on, contribute to the discussions, and ensure that your enterprise is as "IoT-Ready" as it can be.
Too often with compelling new technologies market participants become overly enamored with that attractiveness of the technology and neglect underlying business drivers. This tendency, what some call the “newest shiny object syndrome,” is understandable given that virtually all of us are heavily engaged in technology. But it is also mistaken. Without concrete business cases driving its deployment, IoT, like many other technologies before it, will fade into obscurity.
As more and more data is generated from a variety of connected devices, the need to get insights from this data and predict future behavior and trends is increasingly essential for businesses. Real-time stream processing is needed in a variety of different industries such as Manufacturing, Oil and Gas, Automobile, Finance, Online Retail, Smart Grids, and Healthcare. Azure Stream Analytics is a fully managed distributed stream computation service that provides low latency, scalable processing of streaming data in the cloud with an enterprise grade SLA. It features built-in integration with Azur...

Contrary to mainstream media attention, the multiple possibilities of how consumer IoT will transform our everyday lives aren’t the only angle of this headline-gaining trend. There’s a huge opportunity for “industrial IoT” and “Smart Cities” to impact the world in the same capacity – especially during critical situations. For example, a community water dam that needs to release water can leverage embedded critical communications logic to alert the appropriate individuals, on the right device, as soon as they are needed to take action.
Consumer IoT applications provide data about the user that just doesn’t exist in traditional PC or mobile web applications. This rich data, or “context,” enables the highly personalized consumer experiences that characterize many consumer IoT apps. This same data is also providing brands with unprecedented insight into how their connected products are being used, while, at the same time, powering highly targeted engagement and marketing opportunities. In his session at @ThingsExpo, Nathan Treloar, President and COO of Bebaio, will explore examples of brands transforming their businesses by t...
