NORTHBOROUGH, MA -- (Marketwire) -- 02/26/13 -- Nemonix Engineering, Inc., the leading provider of solutions and services for legacy business critical systems, announced today that it has appointed Duane P. Harris, CEO of the company. Harris brings extensive experience in strategic business development, as well as sales, operations, management and marketing. He has led innovative technology initiatives for companies in a variety of markets.
Harris replaces CEO, Beth Bumbarger, who has led the company since 2001. Beth will continue as Chairman of the Board, helping to set future corporate strategy and support the company's strategic sales and partnership efforts.
"Beth has been a driving force in the success of Nemonix Engineering and is well-known as a leading expert in legacy computer technology," said Harris. "I look forward to working with Beth to set the new strategic direction for the company, and I value her expertise and industry insight, as we build upon our success and enter our next stage of transformation and growth."
The year 2013 is one of major transformation and regrowth for Nemonix Engineering. In addition to corporate changes, Nemonix Engineering has been aggressively building its portfolio of services and industry-compatible hardware components and other solutions for leading legacy hardware from Hewlett-Packard, IBM and others. This year, the company will be launching a comprehensive line-up of new offerings and continuing to build its strategic customer and industry partnerships.
"While it's a fact that all hardware systems will eventually become obsolete. The truth is that legacy computer systems are still fueling some of the most mission-and life-critical applications of major corporations and government entities around the world -- and they don't appear to be going away anytime soon," said Harris. "What I find so fascinating about Nemonix Engineering is its ability to not only repair the functionality of these systems, but also to renew their capabilities and innovate legacy systems. This is what attracted me to Nemonix Engineering and I remain committed to building upon our leadership in revolutionizing the way legacy systems are viewed."
Nemonix Engineering products include more than 900 SCSI hard drive variations, Ethernet/SCSI controllers, memory, and CPU's, which are often multiple orders of magnitude faster than OEM specs. The company's newly manufactured parts use less energy and disperse less heat than the original products. Nemonix Engineering services include Nemonix Technology Refresh services, storage management services, depot-level repair services, and custom engineering services.
Prior to becoming CEO of Nemonix Engineering, Harris was chief operating officer for the company, where he revamped its operations and business processes for scaled growth, managed IT systems, managed sales staff and oversaw fulfillment processes for new orders, repairs and contracts. Before Nemonix Engineering, Harris was vice president of operations for BAP Global Solutions, a U.K.-based enterprise solutions company for enterprise governance and process transparency. As a member of the executive management team at BAP, he was responsible for all operations, demand generation, management and fulfillment, as well as financial reporting. He received a doctorate in law degree from Boston University and a bachelor's degree from Harvard University.
