PALO ALTO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 03/12/13 -- The Anita Borg Institute (ABI), a non-profit organization focused on the advancement of women in the high-tech industry, today announced its newest Board of Trustees member, Ana Gabriela Pinczuk, senior vice president of Services Transformation for Cisco. Together with the other members of ABI's Board of Trustees, Pinczuk will work to promote the recruitment, retention, and advancement of women in technology. Current board members are esteemed leaders in the technology industry including executives, academics, and students from leading companies and academic institutions.
"Ana is an accomplished, highly educated technology executive with great business and technology instincts, having worked for leading companies in a variety of roles," said Dr. Telle Whitney, president and CEO of ABI. "Given her experience serving on the Boards of other organizations working to advance women in business, we know Ana will be an invaluable member of our team and we look forward to her insights and contributions," said Whitney.
Ana Pinczuk leads the Cisco Services Transformation team responsible for Cisco Services strategy, planning, acquisitions and investments, portfolio management and enablement. Prior to this role, she led Cisco's Global Technical Center, a worldwide team of professionals that deliver technical services, define the service experience, and partner with Cisco Engineering to drive product excellence. A transformational leader with a diverse background, Pinczuk has led teams in marketing, sales, business development, and engineering. She started her career at AT&T Bell Laboratories as a systems engineer and had numerous roles, including Vice President responsible for deploying AT&T's Internet backbone. At Cisco, she has led engineering teams focused on software development and test, release engineering, product management, solution development, and IT.

Pinczuk is a member of several other boards including the Cornell Computer and Information Sciences Advisory Board, the Carnegie Mellon Engineering Advisory Board, the Technical Services Industry Association Executive Advisory Board, the TSIA Women in Services Advisory Board, the Consortium for Service Innovation, and the International Society of Service Innovation Professionals (ISSIP). She received a Bachelor of Science and Master of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University, a Master of Technology Management from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School, and a Master of Science in Software Management from Carnegie Mellon University.
ABI recently announced its Women of Vision Awards winners and the Top Company for Technical Women Award winner. The Women of Vision Awards recognizes women leaders in highly technical fields, in the areas of leadership, innovation, and social impact.
