Blueprint Delivers 'Early Warning System' for IT Projects and Expanded Integrations with Latest Version of Requirements and Definition Management Software

Blueprint v5.4 Aligns Cross-Functional Teams and Provides Clear Insight into Project Status and Performance at Any Point in the Software Development Lifecycle

TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 01/08/14 -- Blueprint, the leading provider of enterprise Requirements Definition and Management (RDM) software, today launched Blueprint v5.4, the latest version of its best-in-class RDM solution. Blueprint v5.4 features new Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) integration capabilities that align cross-functional teams; and includes Blueprint Analytics, a solution that gives enterprises clear visibility into the early stages of large, complex IT project portfolios. Blueprint v5.4 also offers electronic signature - essential for approvals in regulated industries.

"The lack of visibility and collaboration across the enterprise in the early stages of the software development lifecycle is sabotaging many IT projects," says Dan Shimmerman, president and CEO of Blueprint. "Blueprint v5.4 helps more people from across the enterprise make better decisions earlier in the software development lifecycle by easily sharing requirements information with all of those who need it. It also lets executives see which projects are at risk from the very early stages, long before any issues would typically be detected."

New ALM Integrations Align Cross-Functional Teams

Blueprint v5.4 features new and enhanced integration capabilities that enable deep bi-directional data synchronization with leading Agile Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) solutions, including: IBM Rational Team Concert, JIRA, Microsoft Team Foundation Server, Rally, and VersionOne. These are in addition to Blueprint's existing integration with HP Quality Center and HP ALM.

This level of integration effectively allows these systems to "talk" to one another enabling better communication between business analysts, developers, testers and all other team members who use these products. Customers can unify their ALM infrastructure with Blueprint v5.4 to deliver complete traceability, improved visibility, and efficient collaboration between cross-functional teams throughout the application development lifecycle.

Delivering Visibility to Protect Project Investments

Featuring Blueprint Analytics, Blueprint v5.4 delivers insight into projects at any point in the lifecycle, including the crucial early stages. With Blueprint v5.4, the information held within a Blueprint system is now available to the customer's existing business intelligence (BI) products. This allows IT leaders and other executives to leverage their existing BI infrastructure to provide clear visibility into early stages of the software development lifecycle, across the entire portfolio of projects in Blueprint.

The same BI capabilities that executives already use can now include Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and other important metrics derived from critical business analysis and requirements definition work as it happens. This gives executives automated early warnings of project risk, and clear insight into project health at any point in the lifecycle, to protect project investments.

Support for Electronic Signatures

Blueprint v5.4 supports electronic signatures as part of 'formal' reviews, which is especially important for those working in regulated industries (e.g., health care, financial services). Review coordinators have the option of requesting electronic signatures for those reviewers whose 'approval' is requested on specific requirements artifacts.

Sophisticated Cross-Project Searching

To support the easy location of artifacts across a portfolio of projects, Blueprint v5.4 allows users to search for requirements information in selected Blueprint projects. This sophisticated cross-project searching enables users to find exactly what they are looking for, wherever it may exist in the portfolio.

Availability

Blueprint v5.4 is immediately available as a cloud-based offering or can be installed on premise if preferred. For additional information please contact Blueprint at 1-866-979-2583 (BLUE) or info@blueprintsys.com.

When shopping for a new data processing platform for IoT solutions, many development teams want to be able to test-drive options before making a choice. Yet when evaluating an IoT solution, it’s simply not feasible to do so at scale with physical devices. Building a sensor simulator is the next best choice; however, generating a realistic simulation at very high TPS with ease of configurability is a formidable challenge. When dealing with multiple application or transport protocols, you would be...
Detecting internal user threats in the Big Data eco-system is challenging and cumbersome. Many organizations monitor internal usage of the Big Data eco-system using a set of alerts. This is not a scalable process given the increase in the number of alerts with the accelerating growth in data volume and user base. Organizations are increasingly leveraging machine learning to monitor only those data elements that are sensitive and critical, autonomously establish monitoring policies, and to detect...

Digital Transformation is much more than a buzzword. The radical shift to digital mechanisms for almost every process is evident across all industries and verticals. This is often especially true in financial services, where the legacy environment is many times unable to keep up with the rapidly shifting demands of the consumer. The constant pressure to provide complete, omnichannel delivery of customer-facing solutions to meet both regulatory and customer demands is putting enormous pressure on...
IoT is at the core or many Digital Transformation initiatives with the goal of re-inventing a company's business model. We all agree that collecting relevant IoT data will result in massive amounts of data needing to be stored. However, with the rapid development of IoT devices and ongoing business model transformation, we are not able to predict the volume and growth of IoT data. And with the lack of IoT history, traditional methods of IT and infrastructure planning based on the past do not app...
"Akvelon is a software development company and we also provide consultancy services to folks who are looking to scale or accelerate their engineering roadmaps," explained Jeremiah Mothersell, Marketing Manager at Akvelon, in this SYS-CON.tv interview at 21st Cloud Expo, held Oct 31 – Nov 2, 2017, at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, CA.
More and more brands have jumped on the IoT bandwagon. We have an excess of wearables – activity trackers, smartwatches, smart glasses and sneakers, and more that track seemingly endless datapoints. However, most consumers have no idea what “IoT” means. Creating more wearables that track data shouldn't be the aim of brands; delivering meaningful, tangible relevance to their users should be. We're in a period in which the IoT pendulum is still swinging. Initially, it swung toward "smart for smart...
IoT is rapidly becoming mainstream as more and more investments are made into the platforms and technology. As this movement continues to expand and gain momentum it creates a massive wall of noise that can be difficult to sift through. Unfortunately, this inevitably makes IoT less approachable for people to get started with and can hamper efforts to integrate this key technology into your own portfolio. There are so many connected products already in place today with many hundreds more on the h...
