Research and Markets: IT Market in New Zealand 2014-2018

Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/research/mqbn6l/it_market_in_new) has announced the addition of the "IT Market in New Zealand 2014-2018" report to their offering.

The authors of the report forecast the IT market in New Zealand to grow at a CAGR of 4.75 percent over the period 2013-2018. Commenting on the report, an analyst from the researchers' team said: With the high potential of the IT market in New Zealand, angel and venture investors are showing high interest and are investing heavily in this market. In 2012, 42 percent of all their investment deals were made for the IT Software and IT Service sectors. Also, 28 percent of their total investment was in the overall IT sector. This high investment can also be attributed to the consistently good performance of the companies in the IT sector, which are generating high profit margins and high return on equity. ICE Angel Investments, New Zealand Venture Investment Fund, and Angel Links are some of the prominent investors in New Zealand. Some of the prominent investments made by ICE Angels were in LiveLinkConnect Ltd., Mi5 Security Ltd., and Nextspace Ltd. In addition, in 2013, Valar Ventures and Matrix Partners invested US$150 million in Xero Ltd.

According to the report, the growth of the IT market in New Zealand is driven by several factors, one of which is the increasing need to improve efficiency of business processes. In order to increase operational efficiency and service levels, companies are increasingly adopting IT solutions.

One of the major challenges in the market is the shortage of skilled workforce. Despite the IT industry offering high wage rates when compared to other sectors, the number of IT students graduating from universities is not matching the requirement of the IT market in New Zealand.

Digital Transformation is much more than a buzzword. The radical shift to digital mechanisms for almost every process is evident across all industries and verticals. IoT is rapidly becoming mainstream as more and more investments are made into the platforms and technology. As this movement continues to expand and gain momentum it creates a massive wall of noise that can be difficult to sift through. There are so many connected products already in place today with many hundreds more on the h...
The standardization of container runtimes and images has sparked the creation of an almost overwhelming number of new open source projects that build on and otherwise work with these specifications. Of course, there's Kubernetes, which orchestrates and manages collections of containers. It was one of the first and best-known examples of projects that make containers truly useful for production use. However, more recently, the container ecosystem has truly exploded. A service mesh like Istio addr...
